The famous
battle of Bunker Hill was actually fought on Breed's Hill.
This engagement was critical in rallying American Patriots to
the cause of liberty and giving them confidence that they
could stand up to the powerful British military. The new
continental army was formed largely of those who fought at
Breed's hill and those inspired by them.
